Can my 00 GSR beat an 06 G35?
Help, I have a ’00 teg GSR – all stock – 5 speed manual, 170 hp at 7600 rpm, 1.8L, 16 valve, 4 cylinder VTEC, weighs 2672 lbs, 15 inch wheels and crappy ass tires. I loved to brag to my best buddy how much faster my car was than his ’97 3000GT (plain one with 165 hp and it weighed about eight zillion tons). I dusted him all the time even with his big ‘ol V6. Nice looking car but mine much was faster. Well he just bought a 06 infinity g35 coupe – 6-speed manual transmission, 3.5L dohc, 24 valve V6, 298 horsepower at 6,400 RPM, weighs 3449 lbs, with monster 18 inch wheels and great tires. What can I do to my car to beat him? I know i need new tires but what else? He drives like an old lady and I drive like richard petty – so he can’t take full advantage of the 6 speed, but that will only take me so far. Of course my teg is front wheel drive and his g35 is rear wheel drive. Can i make my car faster than his without spending 10 grand or putting nitrous in it? Its a matter of pride.
