Can Muslim intersex people marry cissexual men or women?
Intersexuals or persons with indeterminate gender have been allowed by several scholars of various jurisprudential schools (Hanafi, Shafii, Hanbali) t marry either a male or a female based on his or her inner disposition. The jurists reasoned that only the intersex person in question would be in a position to know his/her inner disposition, and so his/her word on the status of his/her orientation and gender will be accapted for the purpose of marriage.
