For PennySort and 10GB to 1TB JouleSort categories, only one input file can be used. For GraySort, MinuteSort, and 100TB JouleSort categories multiple input files can be used. A concatenation of the input files must be the same as the single file that would be generated by gensort with same number of records. Input files that meet this requirement are simple to generate with gensort. See the gensort documentation for more information.
