No, if it is done correctly. According to the DOT regulations, one must perform a confirmation test and wait 15 minutes to allow for the residual mouth alcohol to dissipate. The breath alcohol test measures deep lung air and the residual mouth alcohol is gone in as little as 5 minutes, so that 15 minutes is plenty of time to wait and do the confirmation. Any positive by saliva must be confirmed by a breath alcohol device.
