Can motor vehicle license plates be read with the video cameras?
The video cameras are not capable of reading license plates on moving vehicles. However, the license plate of a stopped vehicle can be read if: • the plate is in clear view; • it is not too far from or close to the camera; • there is adequate, but not too much sunlight; and • staff take the time to pan/tilt/zoom the camera, a slow process.
