Can most/all gas ranges be connected to a propane fuel source?
It is appliance specific. Most are field convertible, but some may not be. If it can be done, a service tech will just install a kit that reduces the flow of the gas components since propane is ‘hotter’ than natural gas (for lack of a better description). You said your Home Depot won’t connect to propane? Sounds like they utilize partially qualified installers to me. A propane conversion is a basic task any gas appliance service technician should be competent at performing. If a service department/contractor isn’t capable of installing a gas conversion, then I certainly wouldn’t want them to come and troubleshoot my appliance if it had problems. My opinion is that I wouldn’t let the issue change my buying habits, unless of course it means finding a seller that fully backs and services what it sells. Gas conversions are part of service. G’luck!
