Yes. A typical installation might be an oil-fired boiler for building heat and an oil-fired hot water heater. NFPA 31 does not require the two appliances to be fed by separate oil tanks. This is covered in Subsection 7.5.15 for a two cross-connected tanks and is also shown graphically in Figure B.1.
