Regarding the district’s new second grade QUEST program, the curriculum is research-based and was developed by RISD staff to provide activities designed to give students the opportunity to exhibit GT behaviors and create advanced products. Students participate in hands-on learning and focus on creative and critical thinking skills. RISD is currently serving approximately 400 students in this program. Demographics of this program closely match the district demographics and RISD anticipates a high percentage of REACH qualifiers from this program at the end of this year. 14.
