Can Molybdenum Be Used?

0

Abstract My project was on the specific heat of metal. I used my equations to determine whether molybdenum would be an ideal material to use on a space shuttle. I found water would have to be present to cool the molybdenum down while it was travelling through the earth’s atmosphere. Otherwise the molybdenum’s energy would have nowhere transfer and it would overheat or melt. Therefore if some water based cooling device were made, molybdenum would be a good material to use, but that is only after the oxidation problem is solved.
