Can Models Get Prints From Their Modeling Session?
Absolutely. All models are invited back to view the results of their modeling sessions, or I can e-mail small scans, and I give the models a few days to “preview” the pages I put together (and I’m totally open to suggestions from models for changes). If a paid model wants one or two prints, I am typically very happy to provide them, free (and even mounted, if the model so wishes); that’s part of the deal. If a model wants more prints, I’ll usually try to negotiate a trade: modeling time in exchange for prints. Please remember — I develop & print pictures by hand, and this is very time-intensive. Typically, for every hour I spend in the studio, I spent six or more hours in the darkroom. Thus, I value the prints highly. I used to donate prints to the local (California) PBS on-air art auction; they typically sold for $300, and the highest price we got for one print was close to $500.
