Can mild depression or SAD be cured or the person gets relief from depression by practising meditation?

I defiantly think it helps, for me it was difficult to learn to meditate, (clearing my mind), but with practice I’m better at it, and I find I can change my mood, and a since of pleasantness, (I would not say I can get to actual happiness,wish I could) I started meditating when I took up yoga classes, (I did not even know it was a part of yoga), At first I found meditating more difficult, than stretches, (I’m a bit hyper), so I would practice at home, and found that it helped when I felt overwhelmed, so I beleive it would help with mild depression. Also the has been more than one study that found regular exercise inproved mild depression better than medication, you might want to try both.
