Can Miguel Cabrera Win The A.L. Triple Crown?
The triple crown is one of the hardest things to win in baseball. To win the triple crown, you have to lead your league in Home runs, RBI’s, and batting average. It may be early in the season to start thinking about it, but right now, Miguel Cabrera is sitting on top of all three categories. Cabrera leads the American League in batting average, (.343), Home runs 21 (tied), and RBI’s with 73. Some players would love those numbers for a yearly total! I know that it’s hard to keep up that torrid of a pace, but if Miggy did, he would hit .358 49 HR’s and 139 RBI’s. It’s very hard to win the triple crown. The last person to win in the A.L. was Carl Yastrzemski in 1967. Cabrera is a hitting machine and has to be one of the best hitters ever. Since turning pro in 2003, he has averaged 33 Homers and 108 RBI’s a season, and is a career .314 hitter.
