Can mental illness such as bipolar disorder be considered terminal illness?

I don’t think a mental disorder can be categorised as “terminal”, as it’s not the disorder itself which leads to death, but rather the complications from the disorder. It’s the same with AIDS, it doesn’t kill, but it destroys the immune system so some other illness ends up being the killer. But as far as I know a terminal illness is one where it is the ultimate killer.
