Can mediation be terminated?
Mediation can be terminated if any of the following circumstances occurs: • the parties reach an agreement; • one of the parties refuses to continue with the mediation; • the mediator concludes that there is nothing to be gained in continuing the process; or • upon the request of one or more of the parties. The mediator will advise the Program Administrator at the conclusion of the mediation process that the proceeding has been concluded and whether the issues involved have been resolved. The terms of any agreement between the parties remain confidential.
