Can mechanical units be placed near the loading dock on the north side of the building?
The A/E team will have to work diligently to find solutions to the problem of mechanical equipment placement. Although the north side of Sewall Hall is less visible to the public, the Campus Master Plan calls for apedestrian path overlooking Boulder Creek that will increase the visibility of the loading dock area. The roof of Sewall Hall is very prominent, so it may be difficult to adequately screen equipment in that location. The light well on the east side of the building provides natural screening and may be a suitable choice for some mechanical equipment.
