Can meals be claimed during winter or spring breaks or at other times when a school is closed?
Schools on a traditional school calendar may not serve SSFO meals during winter or spring breaks. SSFO operating months for traditional schools are May through September, when school is not in session. SSFO operating months for continuous or year-round schools are during scheduled breaks of two to three weeks or less with CDE approval. Schools may also participate any time during the year at a non school site that is responding to an unanticipated school closure (see Question 19).
