Can manual labour substitute for mechanical ramming?
top If you have enough people and they have the strength and committment to the job, but it would be extremely hard work. I know that some of the early settler’s houses here in Australia were rammed by hand, but they had little choice. I guess it also depends on the size of the house. If it was a cottage and it was a village effort to build several of them so everyone chipped in, who knows???
