Can Major League Baseball Survive Without the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees in the Playoffs?
Compound that with the recent steroid scandal and it’s no wonder that America’s Pastime has become America’s Disappointment. The only thing getting some of these fans back to the TV’s was the fact that the Bronx Bombers (Yankees) and the Red Sox kept popping up in the playoffs and World Series to create some much needed drama. They also produced some of the most memorable moments in recent baseball history. So will Major League Baseball survive this year? The answer is yes. It seems that the Baseball gods may be smiling once again. While the Yankees chances of getting to the post season this year are almost nil, the Red Sox still have a chance to win the division and as of this writing lead the Wild Card race by 2 ½ games (source espn.com).
