Yes–but keep reading!!! Students are limited to two “double dips” per major. That is, only two courses in your major can be used in fulfillment of LinC requirements (or, conversely, only two courses used in fulfillment of LinC requirements can be used towards your major). In political science, psychology, sociology, and philosophy, we currently have courses that fulfill at least three different LinC requirements. The one exception to this policy is the Historical Studies (formerly Social Science) major. Because of the interdepartmental nature of the major and the size of the major, students in Historical Studies may use more double dips. There is no restriction on double dips and minors. IMPORTANT! All courses numbered 110-199, 210-299, 310-399 or 400-401 in your major department count towards your major, even if they are above and beyond the minimum requirements for the degree.
