Can light reflection really make something invisible?

Your Friend is correct when talking about color. If you reflected no light you would appear black (absence of all color is black). You are also correct in your theory about bending light around an object to give the illusion of being invisible. This is much easier to describe then it is to do, so don’t expect to see invisible people any time soon. Edit: The YouTube video is not an invisible jacket, it uses what is known as chroma key. They are wearing a green jacket and then in post production they are being made invisible. It is the same thing they do for the weathermen on TV.
