Lexapro treats anxiety so it shouldn’t give you it. You shouldn’t have been put on lexapro for fatigue. I think that you need a different doctor.

First off, have you googled “atypical depression” does it fit you? You don’t have to have all the signs and symptoms. Lexapro may not be the drug for you, but don’t fault your doctors. Docs don’t have crystal balls, and medication in mental illness is hit or miss sometimes. The same is true for something like high blood pressure, that’s why there are scores of meds to choose. If there was a “best medication” for anything, there would only be one med made. Not to scare you but atypical depression is most common in bipolar disorder. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER, just an observation. When SOME people who have bipolar get put on a antidepressant it can cause anxiety or mania. If they need an antidepressant they typically go on a mood stabilizer with it, like lithium or depakote, or others. Again, I AM NOT SAYING YOU HAVE BIPOLAR, ONLY a Dr. can decide that.
