Calcium salts have a tendency to lead to precipitation. Leucovorin calcium is incompatible with 5-fluorouracil. When admixed, the precipitate formed may lead to the catheters becoming blocked. Thus leucovorin calcium should not be mixed with 5-fluorouracil. Leucovorin sodium can be mixed with 5-fluorouracil. Please see FAQ leucovorin sodium for details.
