Yes! You should look for the sets which are specifically labeled as being wired for Direct Current (DC). Of the battery-powered (DC) sets, most common are 12 volt sets. LEDs themselves are diodes, thus work nicely on DC. However, you must pay attention to the voltage so as not to overpower the LEDs which will blow them, similar to overpowering an incandescent bulb. Inirgee carries 12v LED sets which will plug into your car or boat cigarette lighter, and 4.5v LED sets which use 3 AA batteries.
