The guidance emphasises (paragraph 12) the importance of schools’ promoting social and moral development, for example through the place of RE in the curriculum; and seeking to build self-esteem, teamwork and creativity and providing opportunities for self-expression, including through opportunities in PE, sport, music and the arts.
