Can lavender be grown from seed?

Angustifolia lavender varieties can be grown from seed but it is very, very difficult to do so. At Lavender Hollow Farm we grow all our lavender from cuttings. In the fall we prune the lavender and collect the clippings. We then dip the clippings in rooting hormone and plant them in moist soil. This method is the most effective way to propagate lavender.
