Can laundry detergent shrink clothes?
With the quality of fabrics today, anything can affect garments. Water, soaps, and detergents, and using the dryer may shrink clothing. Read the labels inside of everything before putting them in the laundry. Always wash clothing when new, too, and go by the manufacturers label instructions; however, many times with clothing made out of the US, the labels are merely put on without common sense that have nothing to do with that garment. So, to be careful of your clothing, always wash in cold water – there is no need to use hot water because nothing can be hot enough to destroy organisms so save money, and just be certain to wash in enough water to get a freely, circulation of clothes washing, no packed in. Then, shake everything out well before putting it in the dryer, and dry on low, or Permanent Press cycle. It is always best to hang thing up right away, when they are dry. Don’t fold items until they have cooled down completely.
