Can lab techs catch the diseases they test in the labs easily?

0

They can not easily catch diseases but it can happen. It was more common years ago when universal precautions were not followed. Blood borne viruses such as hepatitis B would be an example. It is much more common for nurses, doctors and others who have direct contact with patients to catch something, especially if not taking proper precautions. They are at a high risk for airborne diseases because of coughing, contact etc. Any hospital worker who catches a disease in the hospital environment can pass it on as easily as if they had caught the disease ‘naturally’. It depends on the particular disease.
