Can kittens get impetigo?
Impetigo is an inflammatory skin condition and is highly contagious to other animals and human beings. It is characterised mainly by pustules. The pustules, which are not as deep as those encountered in mange and ringworm, break easily, causing the disease to spread rapidly over the body. Impetigo usually responds well to treatment. Dust the pustules with an antiseptic powder. Avoid contact with the pustules by wearing rubber gloves. If the condition persists, consult the vet. Your parents must have either left you money or left a responsible adult in charge of you, either use the money or speak to a neighbour, friend, relative etc for help. The kitten that doesnt have any symptoms but is acting weak needs to go to the vet straight away. Dehydration is very dangerous in animals so young. Don’t take a chance, take the poor thing to the vet.
