Can kids use Lunesta?
NO! Lunesta (eszopiclone) has not been approved for the treatment of insomnia (or any other condition for that matter) in children under the age of 18. Although its not entirely uncommon for a 14 year old to have difficulty sleeping, a doctor will not normally prescribe a sleep medicine for teenagers unless it is very serious. There are other (not to mention safer) methods of dealing with insomnia. 1) exercising more during the day 2) Warm milk before bed 3) make it a habit of not doing anything in your bed except sleep. If you do other things like stay up and watch tv while in bed, your mind won’t necessarily associate your bed as a place to sleep. there are also safe OTC methods of dealing with insomnia, Melatonin is a natural chemical produced by the pineal gland and has been associated with the sleep-wake cycle. Some studies have shown that melatonin can be used as a sleep aid. However, these findings have not been reviewed by the FDA and therefore is marketed mostly as a dietary s
