Yes, Kick-off! can detect and respond to system crashes on any Mac with a USB port (except iBooks). To complete its restart procedure on Macs, Kick-off! also uses the Mac’s USB “power on” signal. Apple has removed support for this unique feature from newer models; however, you can set your Mac to start itself by setting the “restart automatically after power failure” feature in the Energy Saver Control Panel.
