Can Juvenile cases and records be expunged?
Pursuant to ยง938.355(4m) a juvenile who has been adjudged delinquent may, on attaining 17 years of age, petition the court to expunge the court’s record of the juvenile’s adjudication. Expungement will not be approved if the juvenile, even though he/she has reached age 17, is currently under Juvenile Court jurisdiction/supervision. Expungement will only be approved in exceptional circumstances in which the juvenile/adult making the request demonstrates through course of conduct and/or provision of other information that it is in both the best interests of the juvenile and the public that their juvenile record be expunged.
