Can Jehovahs Witnesses listen to gospel music?

0

I am a Jehovah’s Witness and I listen to a variety of music. As I studied and developed a relationship with Jehovah I started to hate what is bad or evil. Lies are just one of the things that I hate. Most gospel music is laced with lies about Jehovah, and Jesus. Once you have the knowledge of what the truth is and how important that truth is the songs that you love now won’t sound so pretty. My wife still celebrates Christmas as she is not a witness and so she plays Christmas music. There are some carols that are not offensive to me as they do not go against the teachings of the Bible but most do. For instance Frosty the Snowman is about magic, something detestable to Jehovah but Jingle Bells is just a song about a sleigh ride, something everyone would enjoy doing that would please Jehovah. Being a Jehovah’s Witness doesn’t mean that you HAVE to give things up that you loved when you were a worldly person, but that you WANT to give those things up that are detestable to Jehovah.
