Can Iraq and Iran provide the needed oil ?
According to articles in The Wall Street Journal of 23 Feb 98 by Bhushan Bahree, quotes Franco Bernabe, chief executive of the Italian company ENI SpA, as saying that Iraq’s proven reserves, more than 112 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, second only to Saudi Arabia’s 250 billion barrels, and those of Iran, which are somewhat smaller, will have to come into play, and that neither Iraq nor Iran has the finances to substantially expand production capacity without foreign capital. At $2 per barrel or less, production from Iraq and Iran will be very profitable. Since the USA is not on friendly terms with the governments of Iraq and Iran, and since the USA will need oil from Iraq and Iran to stabilize the dominance of the USA in the World Order through 2010, the USA must either change the governments of Iraq and/or Iran or make friends with the governments of Iraq and/or Iran and end restrictions on investment in, and oil sale by, Iraq and Iran.
