With the correct hardware, yes. For example, as part of the process involved in successfully testing IQbase to become an IBM TotalStorage Proven solution, IQbase was tested on an IBM xSeries server with 8 Xeon processors and 32GB RAM, using gigabyte Ethernet connections to the storage device, which was a FASTt 700 & 900 storage controller. IBM Life Sciences built and tested a 2 TERABYTE database of images, and ran IQbase without problems.
