Can infertility treatment have an impact on sexual functioning?
Yes. It is common for a woman – and often her partner – to complain of temporary sexual difficulties during infertility treatment. Having sex on demand can be daunting. Some treatment procedures are invasive and can temporarily create sexual avoidance. It’s also difficult to maintain a positive sense of self and body in the midst of infinitesimal medical assessments of what is going wrong.
