Can Induction be linked to employee turnover?
Absolutely. The way an employee is treated when first joining the company goes a long way. Induction should not only be limited to getting all HR paperwork ready but means getting an employee every bit of information regarding personnel, polices and company information. If you make an employee feel at home the first time, it is hard to go wrong in the future. As much as companies want employees to be loyal, employees also want the companies to reciprocate the same. An employee tries to make a connection when he / she joins an organization and wants to foster this relationship overtime. If the first connection is not complete / half hearted, an employee tends to either take longer to feel a part of organization and be productive or repels from the organization and gets easily attracted to other organizations / job offers.
