Can Indias cultural traditions cope with economic change?
One of the economic miracles of the past few decades has been India. Although it remains largely an agriculture based society, with up to 75 per cent of its population connected to agriculture in some way, India is likely to become one of the top three economic leaders by 2030. Possibly even overtaking the American economy by 2050. What remains uncertain is the manner in which India and its unique cultural and spiritual traditions will cope with the relentless pressure of change.
