Can IGERT students use their stipends to take non-IGERT courses?

0

IGERT students each get a $30,000/year stipend and a $10,500 cost of education allowance to cover their tuition and fees for those years that they are supported by IGERT. What courses students take during those years is up to the PI and advisors but are expected to be within the context of the IGERT’s educational plan and interdisciplinary theme. If tuition and fees are greater than $10,500 that would be a good time to think about institutional commitment. A trainee CANNOT be asked to pay the difference.
