Can IEC/IRB can be formed by a CRO himself or should be independent ?

CHP: Yes a CRO can establish an IRB but once established the CRO must have a hands-off relationship with the IRB as evidenced by the SOP’s of the CRO and the IEC/IRB. In essence, the IEC is and must be ‘independent’ and free from conflicts of interest regardless of how and by whom they start.
