Can identification and quantification of proteins be done at the same time?
There are several methods used to provide both protein identification and the relative amounts of proteins among several samples. The Platform uses Scaffold (www.proteomesoftware.com) for peptide/protein identification and quantification using spectral counting. We also have the capacity to carry out identification and quantitation based on the iTRAQ peptide labeling technique (Ross et al. Mol. Cell. Proteomics (2004):1154).
