Can iAS servers share an LDAP server for configuration information ?
AYes, this can be set up at installation time, provided the shared LDAP server is already available. While servers in a production environment will almost certainly want to share an LDAP server for application-level authentication, it is less obvious that they will want to do so for configuration. An alternative approach is to have a local LDAP server for each iAS server for configuration, and a shared LDAP for application-level authentication.If you do share an LDAP for configuration, two issues require some thought. First, will you use a common directory entry for configuration, or separate entries? If common, then all configuration for all servers is identical. This has the advantage of allowing a single point of configuration for a group of servers, but the disadvantage that the servers must beabsolutelyidentical in configuration.
