Can I work in Phuket?
All foreigners who want to work in Thailand must hold a work permit. Usually, the company that hires you will process the documents in order for you to get your work permit. However, because it is a lengthy and pricy procedure, most employers will ask that foreigners commit a certain amount of time, usually at least 1 year, to their employment contract. The easiest job to get in Thailand is teaching English. Some of our students work as teachers in the local schools. This allows them to stay in Thailand longer than as a tourist.
