Can I wash my Doc Martens in the washing machine?
You cannot wash them in the washing machine. Even if it did not ruin the boots, it would most likely ruin the washing machine. They are not designed to wash items which are that heavy. You can, if you’d like, simply clean the boots by hand. It’s not hard, and it’s not really time consuming. Remove the laces, and set those aside. If they are terribly dirty, you can put them in the sink with some dish soap, and they can soak and get clean. (You’ll need to rinse them until the water runs clear, and then hang them to dry.) Take a soft cloth, and go over the boots to remove as much surface dust as possible. Once you have done that, take a different clean cloth and run it under water, then wring it out so it’s just damp, and go over the boots carefully. You can do both the insides and outsides with that cloth.
