I presume you mean Google Earth, or other equivalent systems such as that by microsoft. Whilst not technically “downloading”, they all involve transmittal of huge amounts of data whilst browsing, so short of getting broadband installed I cannot think of a work-around? I think that you will be unlucky to find something on disk – consider the huge amounts of data involved with global satellite images. You would need a mountain of CD’s that I guess would not fit on your PC! Bear in mind that they are updating the Google Earth images on a daily basis, as well as adding new geographic information. A lot of the images currently on Google Earth are quite old ones, although this is constantly changing. I am lucky enough to have Broadband and have found Google Earth highly addictive. It is simply stunning for viewing geological features (especially in regions where the structures are exposed).
