Can I view topographic maps and aerial photographs online?

0

Yes. Links to sites that offer online viewing can be found at http://nationalmap.gov/gio/viewonline.html. Some of the more popular sites include Microsoft TerraServer, MapMart and Topozone. In addition to those sites, USGS topographic maps are viewable within the USGS Map locator and downloader through the USGS online store at http://store.usgs.gov/. Aerial photos are also commonly seen using Google Earth and Google Maps. And now you know. Join us every weekday for a new CoreFact. If you have a question you think we should answer on the air, email it to us at corefacts@usgs.gov or leave us a voicemail at 703-648-5600; don’t forget long distance fees do apply. The USGS CoreFacts is a product of the U.S. Geological Survey, Department of the Interior.
