Can I view a PDF attachment, or any attachment, if I use Smarterm to view my email?
top NO, if you use Smarterm to read your email you CANNOT VIEW OR READ ATTACHMENTS. What you will see is a bunch of “garbage” or gibberish characters after the message part of the email. It is strongly recommended, that if you want the ability to view and read attachments, you need to set-up an email program, such as, Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger (part of Netscape Communicator version 4.5 or greater). Both of these programs can be set-up to automatically check for new email and alert you when you get new email. They will also give you the ability to use address books, create folders to organize your messages and print your messages without having to do a print screen, then a page down, another print screen etc. You can download, for free, Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger. These two products have to be downloaded as part of Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator, they cannot be downloaded by themselves. More than likely you already have one of these programs on your PC
