For motherboards that support XMP, if the system is upgraded with HyperX single or dual kit modules the memory will not be able to utilise the XMP profiles. The reason is that single modules and dual channel memory kit modules use older technical specifications which do not recognise some special features required by the new Core i7 processor based platforms; therefore XMP profiles will not be activated. In order to get the best experience from HyperX triple channel modules, we recommend the use of XMP based motherboards.
