Can I use Unlimited Domestic Upgrades when traveling with friends or family?
Yes, we’ll automatically request Unlimited Domestic Upgrades for all elite members and up to one companion traveling on the same reservation. When upgrade space becomes available, requests will be prioritized by the Mileage Plus® elite member’s status, booking class purchased and by time of ticketing. Please note that on the day of your flight, all remaining upgrade requests on the wait list are reprioritized based on each individual’s Mileage Plus status level. If you are traveling with more than one companion on the same reservation, your upgrade request will not be automatically processed. Please contact United Reservations or speak with an airport agent for assistance. To sponsor other passengers for an upgrade, you may continue to use Mileage Plus Upgrade Awards, Systemwide Upgrades or Regional Upgrades.
