No, not really. It is not designed to interface with the Dish or Direct TV System. It can be problematic.

It is best to use the Dish or Direct DVR, the equipment is free and the usage fee is only $5 TIVO’S monthly charge is around $12. However, if you are a cable customer we will be happy to sell you a TIVO machine as we are an authorized retailer of those as well.
