Well, if it is documentable for the time and place that is specified for the event, and it is appropriate for a person of your social standing to use such a nifty expensive thing, then sure it’s ok. But you probably should have checked with the group or possibly the authenticity officer before spending all that money. Just because the person who sold it to you said it was ok for the era, doesn’t mean it is correct, or safe for our purposes.
